1st Draft for Print Production 1

This is our first draft for print production 1, we have not as of yet completed what we are going to write, but hope to do so over the time of us producing our first magazine article for EMPIRE magazine.

Headline Choices

Together as a group, we came up with various headlines for our first print production. We chose headlines that relate to our film and our genre. Below are the headlines that we thought of:-

Obsession! A Peak of Darkness

* Prime Times Hits Obsession
* Endless Habits Become An Obsession!
* New Age for New Horror
* New Horror Rocks The Era
* Horror Films Invade Our Screens
* Watch How Obsession Creeps Onto Our Screens
* A Volt of Horror
* Horror Hits Home
* The New Light for Horror Films

We felt that a lot of the titles we came up with were good and really related to the genre of our film, but our final choice was "Obsession! A Peak of Darkness", we chose this as the headline for our article because we felt that it really connotes to the audience on what our film is about. The use of the term "Peak of Darkness" allows the audience to see how a stalker's obsession with a young girl results in her being put in danger.

Progress Report 5 - Jaleesa

(02/03/09 - 08/03/09)

Although there has been progress this week, it has been slow progress due to us having to upload our shots and capture the ones that are needed for our film trailer. Alongside the other members of my group, I have equally contributed to the making of our trailer, I have contributed my ideas into how I think our production could be better and what type of effects we should use in our trailer. We've decided which people should be in the editing room in order for us to continue to move on with our production progressively. We also need to decide on what type or types of sound we should and whether we need to re-shoot anything, which in my opinion I think we do due to some of our shots not suiting the original idea of what we wanted for our production.

Over the course of the next week, we hope to have this all decided on in order for us to ensure that we all get A grades as a result of our film production.

What Went Well...

* We uploaded all of our shots onto the computer.

* We made sure that at least one person from the group was able to attend the sessions where we are able to edit.

* We managed to stay in the same sort of routine to ensure that we are not behind in our work.

Next Best Steps...

* Start coming to the editing sessions altogether so that we are all able to decide on what types of things are needed in order for us to produce an A grade production.

* Re-shoot some of our scenes.

* Further discuss who will be editing and when they will be editing.

.. Progress Report .. Meena

Over the half term i had gone on holiday so we couldnt get any filming done with the character i was playing in since i wouldnt be here so me nd my group decided to shoot all the shots with me in them that are vital towards our trailer and shoot them in the week before the half term startded. we got all the shots we wanted done and it was all completed successfully. we were on target and on scheduale to what we wanted to do and where we wanted to be in our filming. then we decided that jaleesa and amal would do all the minor horror convention shots such as the weapon, blood, dark scenes and typical horror backgrounds or places. we have completed that and finished recording the shots we wanted to however over the days we have started to come with new shots and shots that could possibly be better than our first idea and we just think its good to have a variety of events and possibilites to see what looks better on film for our audience, so even though now we have started to upload all our shots onto the computer and only recenlty started editing, we want to start shooting some extra footage just to be able to have backup ideas if we dont like our origional one so its thier for 'just in case' purposes.

What we could improve on doing in the group is taking less days off school and becoming a bit more organized with the days we come to edit. usually we see eachother and quickly organize who comes the next few days and what times, but now we are going to focus on making a proper scheduale of who comes on what days and what times so it becomes natural and more of a pattern and that way everyone has contributed in the editing process. everyone has equally contributed in the shooting the film process because we all took turns taking the camera home and recording shots and then i took the job of writing up our screenshot review report and jaleesa and amal took the role of writing up the log sheets so our work was still balanced out with eachother and we all have contributed pretty much the same amount.

What Went Well...
* We uploaded all of our shots onto the computer.
* We all contributed to the production work equally so its all balanced out
* We we have stuck to our routine on how to work with eachother to work to our best ability

Next Best Steps...
* Start coming to the editing sessions more as a group rather than individualy
* Re-shoot some of our scenes.

Progress Report 5....Amal

This week we have been editing and finally finished uploading our film, even though it took long we managed to upload what we need. So we can now start editing properly and adding different sounds to it. Because we have so many shots to chose from to place in the order we need, I think that it will be easier as we have logged what shots we will use and when, but that's still needed to be decided on with the whole group. I think I have contributed equally within the group as I have give my ideas and shared my opinions of what we should use and what needs to be changed, and this did help our group as it allowed us all to contribute equally.Now we will start editing and taking turns in who needs to come in the morning, during free period and after school, but we will write down a plan for that so each one of us knows what and when we should go and edit.

For the next week or so we will spend all of our "free" time editing and try to complete it before the deadline and not rush around when it's close to the deadline. If we all work as a team then I think we will achieve the best results we want.

What Went Well:

• What went well this week is that we managed to upload what we needed on the computer, and this will enable us to start editing properly.
  
• We worked together as a group and talked about things that we all wanted to do, which has made it easier to upload what we wanted

Next Best Step

• Our next best step is to start working together and complete the editing before the deadline.
• We need to write a timetable of who will do editing on what days and when
• We need to start arranging what we need to re-shoot and if we need to re-shoot it as some bits in the trailer might need to be done again.
  

Progress Report 4 - Jaleesa

(23/02/09 - 01/03/09)

We started uploading the shots onto the computer this week, so we could start editing. The uploading process is taking pretty long because we filmed a lot and we have to look at each shot to see if they are needed even though we already said we don't want some of them, but everything seems to be going right so far and I'm happy with that.

Now we're just waiting until everything is uploaded so we can start messing about with the clips and see which ones are best for our production. ツ
